On Oct. 28, UTSC will be hosting its first pub night in over a year, which includes a special twist of its own. The theme is Halloween, and has been long-anticipated by students.
Originally going to be held on-campus at Rex’s Den, a change in plans relocated the event to an off-campus banquet hall, a decision that has been met with mixed reactions.
For the past few years, the UTSC library has been open 24/7 each term, starting in early October until the end of the final exam period. This year, however, the library will only be open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Although during finals, the 24/7 hours will be in place, many students are upset over this change.
Laugh Think Groove (LTG), was meant to bring together UTSC students, alumni and members of the Scarborough community for a night of fine arts and hard partying. It was held at the swanky Time nightclub in the heart of downtown’s entertainment district.
Promising to “make our school a more friendly and romantic place,” Love at U of T, a newly launched dating service website exclusively for the U of T community, offers students an alternative place to strike a romantic encounter.
UTSC is generally known as an undergrad-centric campus. The common perception is that UTSC does not promote its graduate programs as much as it does its undergraduate education.
