Student Politics 101

Within the first week of classes, new students will realize that student politics is central to life at university.

At UTSC, the Scarborough Campus Students’ Union (SCSU) is the political body that represents students, comprising of a president, six vice-presidents and several other staff members, most of whom are students. The SCSU attempts to enhance student life by advocating for relevant issues and creating initiatives that improve student experiences.
Full-time students pay approximately $37.00 as part of their tuition fees to help fund the SCSU.

KFC, Taco Bell and Hero Burgers to move into Student Centre

Students who are concerned about the lack of food options on campus will be glad to know that three new vendors have been finalized for operation in the student centre, taking over the spot that was formerly A&W. As per current plans, KFC, Taco Bell and Hero Burgers will open in early August.

“Better models for better drugs” is the motto for the second International Annual Conference for the Models of Human Diseases. On Jun. 28, U of T’s Faculty of Medicine will be host a diverse range of participants united by a common cause: advancing the development of more efficient animal models to develop better drugs.

The Underground presents the first-ever Professor of the Year award

Cue the drumroll. The Underground presents the first-ever Professors of the Year awards to recognize superior faculty members that go above and beyond, inside and outside of the classroom. Students nominated professors and winners were decided based on the number and quality of the nominations.
