Iacovetta the first ‘Living Document’

The history department recently hosted the very first evening of the Living Documents series at UTSC. The event featured Professor Franca Iacovetta, whose work encompasses such fields as Women’s and Gender history, Immigrants and Racialized populations, and moral regulation and citizenship in Cold War Canada, among others.

Focus on faculty: Daniel Tysdal

In case you didn’t know, professor Daniel Tysdal, is not know commonly known as an English professor, but rather for wearing bright pumps.
In addition to teaching introductory poetry and a creative writing course, he also runs the comic book club on campus.

Campus goes bald for cancer; matches goal

On Oct. 14, the campus police organized an on-campus walk-a-thon and head shave, to raise awareness and money for cancer. There were approximately 50 participants in the walk-a-thon and 12 of the participants volunteered to have their heads shaved.

Empowerment time fails to engage audience

The food court was cleared, chairs were set up in three neat rows, and music blared on the sound system to keep the audience entertained. A paper taped to the podium read “Voter Empowerment Time.”
The only thing missing was an audience to fill the dozens of empty seats.
