September: Remember how pumped you were to be back at school in September? New courses, new books, new professors – your past is behind you and you’re ready to kick some butt. Prepped with new stationary, you’re going to all your classes and pretending like you’re super-interested. 4.0? Piece of cake.

October: And so the real fun begins. The positivity is slowly waning, especially with the onset of midterms, but you’re still prodding along and not too behind on your readings. Things are slowly piling up, but you’re making colour-coded schedules to help you get through it.

November: Remember all those assignments that seemed so far away in September? They’re here. Caffeine, Red Bull and regular doses of YouTube are your weapons to fight off sleep. Just when you think it can’t get worse, you realize that the person-with-a-cold-who-came-to-class-anyway got you sick. Thanks, asshole.

December: In between you and freedom lie five exams. And the good ol’ Registrar’s office doesn’t care if you have four exams in two days because they’re not in back to back time slots. You’re constantly falling asleep on your books, don’t care how you look anymore and coffee is more important than water. Food? No time. So close. But so far…

The cycle begins again in January. See you then!

Sincerely,
