U of T is currently gearing up to film its very own Lip Dub, a video that combines lip-syncing and audio dubbing with the goal of showcasing student spirit. Auditions were held at UTSC on Aug. 6 and 9.
Charles Wong, U of T Lip Dub’s director of public relations spoke briefly to The Underground about plans for the video.
The Underground: How is the U of T Lip Dub being organized across three campuses?
Charles Wong: Our club consists of 15 dedicated members: two from UTM, four from UTSC and the rest from UTSG. However, we do not view the three campuses as separate entities. From our Facebook page to the video itself, we view U of T as a single, indivisible unit.
UG: Can you tell us anything about the concept for the Lip Dub?
CW: We are going to have tons of people, a few celebrities, surprises and explosions!
UG: Can we expect to see our “stars” shining in the Lip Dub as well?
CW: Absolutely. Currently, our negotiations with some of the celebrities are still in progress therefore I will not say much until everything is finalized. However, for the interest of the readers, I can reveal that the video will feature none other than (U of T)President (David) Naylor himself, who will be displaying his unique talents.
UG: Is there a tentative time frame for the video to hit social media?
CW: We are done with the auditions. We will start shooting at UTM on Sept. 11. The filming at UTSC and UTSG will be held on Sept. 17 and 18, respectively. Hopefully, the final Lip Dub will be launched before November of this year
UG: Do you have a message for the student community at U of T?
CW: We want to show the world that although U of T has such a diverse and large population, we are truly unified in [our] school spirit.

Now I know who the briany one is, I’ll keep looking for your posts.
It’s more like the UofT lipdub ran into the bar and suffered a concussion rather than raised it.
