The UTSC Maroons men’s division 1 basketball team captured the tri-campus championship with a stunning win over Woodsworth College with a score of 67-57. UTSC’s Ravi Prem netted four straight three-pointers in the first half and ended the day with 17 points. Woodsworth ran into foul trouble in the second half and the Maroons made sure they capitalized on their opponents’ misplay, extending an eight-point lead at halftime to a 10-point victory.

UTSC athletics coordinator, Ron Crozier, said the team played hard right from the beginning to the final buzzer. The team erased any doubts caused by a shaky end of the season with convincing wins over New A and FPEH in the first two rounds of the post-season.

The UTSC Raccoons were less fortunate in their post-season run, falling in the quarter finals against UTM 84-67.
