That last word may sound unfamiliar to many students at UTSC who just don’t seem to have the time for relaxing. Amidst preparation for final exams, relaxing is the absolute last thing on people’s minds…or is it?
As part of the Music Performance Lecture Series, UTSC welcomed ethnomusicologist and multi-instrumentalist professor Robert Simms for a lecture and demonstration. He played a number string and wind instruments from West Asia to introduce some of the basic features of music in the area.
On Nov. 9, Professor Maria Assif and her students from the Contemporary Arab Women Writers (ENGC51) course presented displays of their class work in honour of Arab women writers.
